A young Brazilian social media star has died in a devastating motorcycle crash, and the tragedy deepened when her father also died shortly after learning of the accident.
Karla Thaynnara, a 25-year-old social media personality, was killed in a motorcycle collision on March 3, according to Brazilian media reports.
The crash reportedly happened on a highway near Brasília when her motorcycle collided with a car. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Thaynnara did not survive.
According to the regional newspaper Correio Braziliense, the heartbreaking situation took another tragic turn when her father, José Carlos Andrade Nogueira, arrived at the crash site. The retired military police officer reportedly died by suicide shortly after learning that his daughter had been killed.
Both deaths were later confirmed in a message posted to Thaynnara’s Instagram Stories.
Thaynnara had built a following of nearly 60,000 people on Instagram, where she frequently shared fitness content, her passion for motorcycles, and photos with her young daughter.
Her final post on social media came on February 21, when she shared a video of herself lifting weights at the gym.
Fans flooded her page with emotional messages after the news of her death spread online.
“May you and your father be in God’s arms,” one follower wrote. “May the Holy Spirit comfort those who loved you, especially your daughter.”
Another person commented, “My God, what a beautiful woman. May God comfort her mother. There is no comfort in a moment like this.”
Others expressed heartbreak that someone so young had died so suddenly.
“Oh, so young,” one user wrote. “May God comfort her family and friends.”
Family members announced plans to honor both Thaynnara and her father with a motorcycle caravan and wake held at a cemetery in Brasília.
