The action during Monday night’s World Baseball Classic game between the United States and Mexico wasn’t limited to the field. A wild fight between fans erupted in the stands, turning part of the stadium into chaos.
The brawl happened in the outfield seating area at Daikin Park in Houston and was caught on video by nearby spectators. The clip quickly began circulating online, showing tensions between fans of the two rival teams boiling over.
In the footage, a man wearing Mexico team gear is seen charging toward another fan dressed in USA apparel. Within seconds, the two are throwing punches as shocked spectators nearby watch the fight unfold.
It’s not clear what started the confrontation, but the exchange quickly escalated. Both men appeared to land several solid blows during the fight.
At one point, the man supporting Team USA loses his balance and tumbles down a set of stadium stairs, adding to the chaos.
Another fan wearing an Aaron Judge shirt was also caught in the middle of the scuffle. He was knocked from behind and sent stumbling down a row of seats as the fight spread through the crowd.

But the altercation didn’t end there.
After getting back to his feet, the USA supporter jumped back into the confrontation and managed to land a punch to the side of one of the men’s faces. Moments later, additional fans appeared to get involved, and more people were seen slipping and falling on the stairs as the fight continued.
Eventually the situation was brought under control and order was restored in the stands. It remains unclear whether anyone involved was ejected from the stadium or arrested following the incident.
While the outcome of the fan brawl is still up for debate, the result on the field was much clearer.
Team USA defeated Mexico 5–3 in the matchup, keeping their record undefeated in pool play.
The American team is scheduled to return to the field again tonight, where they will face off against Team Italy in the next round of the tournament.
