Prince William is honoring his late mother, Princess Diana, with a deeply personal tribute that has captured the attention of royal fans around the world.

The Prince of Wales shared a never-before-seen photo of Diana in a heartfelt Mother’s Day message, giving the public a rare glimpse into a private moment from his childhood.

The touching photo shows Diana in 1984 standing in a field of flowers at the family’s Highgrove home in Gloucestershire while holding a two-year-old Prince William. The image comes from William’s personal family collection and had never been released publicly before.

Alongside the photo, William shared a short but emotional message remembering his mother.

“Remembering my mother, today and every day,” the caption read. “Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day.”

Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 when William was just 15 years old. Over the years, he has regularly paid tribute to her on Mother’s Day by sharing rare photos and memories.

Prince Harry has also honored their mother in the past, including arranging for flowers to be placed at her grave on Mother’s Day.

Meanwhile, William and Kate’s children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — have created their own sweet tradition in recent years by making handmade cards addressed to their “Granny Diana.”

The royal family’s official social media accounts also marked the day with a separate Mother’s Day message, sharing nostalgic photos of Queen Elizabeth II with her children and the Queen Mother, as well as a photo of Queen Camilla with her late mother, Rosalind Shand.

The message read: “Wishing mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.”

The tribute came just days after Prince William and Princess Kate made a surprise appearance together in London.

The couple stopped by the busy Borough Market, where excited fans crowded around hoping for photos and a chance to greet the royal pair. From there, they headed to Bermondsey for a visit along the city’s famous “beer mile.”

Throughout the outing, the couple appeared relaxed and playful with each other, sharing laughs while trying their hand at brewing beer and even competing to see who could pour the best pint.

At one point, William proudly praised Kate’s beekeeping hobby, joking that she “knows a lot.”

As they wrapped up the day at the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station, one member of the crowd shouted out, “Happy Mother’s Day, Catherine!”

Kate also appeared to quietly honor Diana during the visit by wearing a pair of Cartier Trinity hoop earrings — a style closely associated with the late princess.

The sentimental jewelry, believed to have been a birthday gift from William, is part of Cartier’s iconic Trinity collection, which features three intertwined rings often said to symbolize love, loyalty, and friendship.

Princess Diana was famously fond of the collection and was often seen wearing a Trinity ring on her pinky finger.
