A cross-country trip ended in tragedy — and a chilling chain of events.
Authorities say an Arizona stand-up comic traveled all the way to Alaska, where he allegedly gunned down his former father-in-law before attempting to kill his ex-wife in a shocking attack.
Police in Anchorage responded to reports of gunfire on March 14 and discovered 87-year-old Romaine Clark dead at the scene.
But the situation quickly grew even more disturbing.
The following morning, officers found the body of 61-year-old Matthew Thomas Becker — the suspected shooter — in a wooded area near Eagle River Campground, about 15 miles away. Investigators are still working to determine how he died.
According to court records, Becker didn’t stop with one target.
His ex-wife, who had just arrived at her salon that day, reportedly noticed something was wrong when she couldn’t get inside due to a tampered lock. Moments later, Becker allegedly jumped out of a vehicle and opened fire.
She managed to escape, hide, and call police — but feared for her father’s safety. When officers checked his home, they made the grim discovery.
The extent of her injuries has not been fully released.
Adding another layer to the case, Becker had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, according to a family member.
He was also known as a stand-up comedian and owned a comedy club in Arizona — a place now grappling with the aftermath of the tragedy.
In a statement, the club expressed sympathy for the victim while condemning Becker’s actions, saying his final decisions destroyed any positive memories people had of him.

May he spend eternity with Satan!
