The new wave of lifeguards heading into the Baywatch reboot isn’t just worried about memorizing lines and hitting the beach in slow motion — they’re reportedly spooked by something much bigger.
According to insiders, some cast and crew members believe the iconic show carries a lingering “curse” tied to the troubled pasts of several original stars — and now, they’re allegedly considering bringing in spiritualists to protect themselves.
The reboot is set to introduce a fresh lineup of actors stepping into roles once made famous by legends like Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff — but behind the scenes, there’s talk that the show’s legacy isn’t all sunshine and beach runs.
“There’s a growing feeling that Baywatch has this shadow over it,” one source claimed. “A lot of people from the original cast went through serious struggles after the show, and that’s making the new cast uneasy.”
From addiction battles to legal trouble and career derailments, the history surrounding the original series has become part of Hollywood lore — and now it’s reportedly rattling the reboot’s stars.
Another insider said the concern has gotten so intense that some involved have floated the idea of hiring spiritual experts to “cleanse” the set and ward off any bad energy.
“It might sound extreme, but people are taking it seriously,” the source added. “They feel like they’re stepping into something bigger than just another TV job.”
Much of the so-called “curse” chatter centers around Anderson, whose rise to global fame on the show was followed by years of intense public scrutiny — including the fallout from her infamous leaked tape with ex-husband Tommy Lee.
While Anderson has since rebuilt her image and earned praise for recent work, insiders say her story is often viewed as the starting point of the show’s darker narrative.
Still, she’s also seen as proof that it’s possible to come out the other side.
“Pamela went through a lot, but she reinvented herself,” one insider said. “That gives some hope — but it doesn’t erase the fear.”
Other former cast members have also faced well-documented struggles over the years, adding to the eerie reputation the show has picked up.
Now, as cameras prepare to roll on the reboot, those whispers are getting louder.
“The new cast knows the history,” another source said. “And whether you believe in a curse or not, it’s definitely in the back of people’s minds.”
For now, it remains to be seen whether the reboot will shake off the past — or if those chilling rumors will follow the new Baywatch crew straight onto the sand.
