Rory McIlroy’s frustrating final round at the PGA Championship turned ugly when the golf star lost his temper with a spectator and appeared to have the fan removed from the course.

The tense moment happened on the par-five 16th hole at Aronimink, where McIlroy was already battling through a difficult day.

After sending his tee shot into the rough, McIlroy tried to recover with an aggressive approach. But the shot did not go the way he wanted. His ball bounced off the fringe and rolled into a greenside bunker, adding to his frustration.

That was when someone in the crowd apparently said something that pushed him over the edge.

McIlroy immediately spun around, visibly furious, and snapped, “Shut the f— up.”

The outburst was caught on the broadcast, forcing Sky Sports to apologize to viewers for the language that went out live on air.

But McIlroy did not stop with the angry response.

The World No. 2 then pointed his club toward the fan, making it clear to security who he believed had crossed the line. Moments later, the spectator was reportedly removed from the course and missed the rest of Sunday’s action.

The blowup quickly spread online, with golf fans debating whether McIlroy was justified in reacting so strongly or whether the pressure of another major championship had finally boiled over.

For McIlroy, it was the latest rough moment in a round filled with missed chances. His putting also let him down throughout the day, with several birdie opportunities sliding by. One painful miss came on the 12th hole, where a long 44-foot attempt stopped just 11 inches short.

He finished the round with a 69 and ended the tournament at four-under, five shots behind the winner.

The result means McIlroy’s chase for a seventh major title will have to wait until the U.S. Open in June.

While McIlroy’s sideline clash became one of the most talked-about moments of the day, Aaron Rai walked away with the trophy.

Rai delivered a stunning final-round 65 to claim his first major championship, finishing at nine-under and three shots clear of the field.

The 31-year-old from Wolverhampton also made history, becoming the first Englishman to win the Wanamaker Trophy since Jim Barnes in 1919. His victory ended a streak of ten straight American winners at the PGA Championship.

Still, for many watching at home, the unforgettable image of the final round was McIlroy turning from the fairway, pointing out a fan, and letting everyone know he had heard enough.
