Late Dallas Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland’s girlfriend has welcomed their first child, just seven months after the NFL star’s tragic death.

Catalina Mancera announced on Monday that she had given birth to their son, Makhai, sharing the emotional news in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Makhai was born on June 11, Mancera revealed, captioning the tribute, “My favorite gift from you.”

The touching post included photos of the newborn’s tiny footprints, sweet images of Makhai holding his mother’s finger, and a special onesie featuring a woven image of the baby wearing his dad’s Cowboys number.

Mancera also shared a video of the moment she told Kneeland she was pregnant, making the announcement even more emotional for fans who have followed the family’s heartbreaking story.

Kneeland died on Nov. 5, 2025, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was just 24 years old.

Days after his death, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer publicly confirmed that Mancera was pregnant and said the team planned to support both her and the unborn baby.

The Cowboys later created the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund to help provide financial support for Mancera and their son.

After Mancera shared the news of Makhai’s arrival, fans and members of the football community flooded her post with messages of love and support.

Many celebrated the baby’s birth while also remembering Kneeland, whose legacy now lives on through his son.
