Comedian Carrot Top is facing serious sexual assault allegations after a man filed a police report in Florida accusing the longtime Las Vegas entertainer of multiple encounters without his consent, adding another troubling development to an ongoing legal controversy surrounding the performer.

The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was named in a report filed with the Winter Park Police Department on October 18 by Zachary DeFazio, who claims the alleged incidents took place in 2021, when he was just 19 years old.

According to a three-page statement obtained by RadarOnline, DeFazio described several encounters with Thompson, including allegations that the comedian ignored his objections, continued unwanted sexual contact and recorded an intimate encounter without permission.

Winter Park police confirmed to RadarOnline that a case had been opened and remained under investigation. The department declined to discuss the allegations further, and there has been no public announcement of criminal charges against Thompson.

The accusations center on a relationship that DeFazio claims began on March 21, 2021, after the two connected through the dating app Grindr.

DeFazio told investigators he initially agreed to what he believed would be a blind date, only discovering that he was meeting the famous comedian when he arrived. According to his account, Thompson invited him on a boat ride near his Florida home, where the two consumed alcohol before eventually returning to the residence.

It was there, DeFazio alleges, that the evening took an uncomfortable turn.

In his statement to police, DeFazio claimed Thompson began touching and kissing him despite his reluctance. He described feeling overwhelmed and freezing as the situation progressed, alleging that the comedian continued even after he verbally objected.

“At no point did I take back that I did not consent,” DeFazio wrote, describing an encounter in which he claims his boundaries were ignored.

The allegations did not end with that first meeting.

DeFazio told investigators that he met with Thompson again on April 12, 2021, when they reportedly spent time boating and visiting a friend’s home. He claimed alcohol was involved throughout the day and that he eventually became significantly more intoxicated than the comedian.

According to the police statement, DeFazio believes he was too impaired to meaningfully consent to sexual activity that allegedly followed. He also claimed Thompson reassured him that he had nothing to worry about because the entertainer had more to lose if their encounters became public.

One of the most serious allegations involves DeFazio’s claim that Thompson used his phone to record an intimate encounter without his permission.

DeFazio has asked investigators to delete any such recording if it is recovered. Authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the video exists or whether they have obtained footage matching his description.

The accuser also described a third encounter on October 8, 2021, when he allegedly attempted to bring a friend to Thompson’s home because he was uncomfortable being alone with him. When the friend could not attend, DeFazio said he went anyway.

He claimed the comedian again made an unwanted sexual advance, which he resisted. Although DeFazio described additional gaps in his memory from that evening, he told investigators he deliberately excluded details he could not recall clearly rather than risk presenting uncertain recollections as fact.

His decision to come forward, he said, was motivated by a desire to pursue accountability for what he believes happened.

The new police investigation comes amid a separate legal dispute involving singer Brian Evans, a former friend and professional associate of Thompson, who has made additional allegations concerning an intimate recording purportedly involving the comedian.

Evans previously sued Thompson, and the parties reached an out-of-court settlement. However, Evans has since challenged that agreement, alleging that he did not fully understand its legal consequences and that representations made during the settlement process were misleading.

In court filings, Evans claims he received an unsolicited sexually explicit video involving Thompson and a younger man. He says he deleted the recording from his phone but that a copy remained in his cloud storage.

Thompson’s attorneys have disputed Evans’ conduct and accused him of attempting to use the alleged recording to demand money. Evans has denied threatening to release footage in exchange for a settlement, making the competing claims another disputed element of the wider legal fight.

The civil litigation and DeFazio’s police complaint are separate matters. Neither establishes that Thompson committed sexual assault, and the allegations have not been proven in criminal court.

The controversy also comes during an especially difficult period for the comedian, who was hospitalized in Las Vegas on September 18 following a reported suicide attempt.

Thompson spent approximately a week receiving medical care before returning home to recover. His representatives later confirmed that he was improving and thanked fans for their support while requesting privacy for his family.

On October 17, the entertainer addressed supporters publicly for the first time since his hospitalization, expressing gratitude for the messages and encouragement he had received.

He subsequently returned to the stage at the Luxor Hotel & Casino on October 19, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. The performance marked his return to a residency he has maintained since 2005 and came as questions surrounding the allegations continued to attract public attention.

For decades, Carrot Top has been one of Las Vegas’ most recognizable performers, building a career around his elaborate props, distinctive red hair and energetic comedy routines. His lengthy residency at the Luxor has made him a fixture of the city’s entertainment scene.

Now, the latest complaint places renewed scrutiny on allegations dating back more than five years, as investigators determine whether there is evidence to support the claims.

A representative for Thompson declined to comment on the police report when contacted by RadarOnline.

It remains unclear what investigative steps authorities may take next or whether the allegations could lead to criminal charges. The separate civil dispute involving Evans also remains contested.

For now, the case is an active investigation involving serious but unproven accusations, and Thompson has not been convicted of any offense related to the claims.

  1. So this loser felt uncomfortable with all the unwanted advances he was getting but kept on going back for more. Yeah, sounds like a fake complaint that is looking for a payday.
