A popular male model and influencer has been arrested after his husband, a fitness trainer, was found brutally stabbed to death in their New York City apartment.
According to reports, 34-year-old Jacob Zieben-Hood was discovered dead around 4 a.m. on Friday, August 1, inside the couple’s Harlem home on West 138th Street. Prosecutors say Jacob was slumped over a toilet with multiple stab wounds, including a deep cut to his leg that penetrated muscle, as well as a head injury.
Jacob was a trainer at SystimFit, a personal training company, and had an active presence on social media promoting health and fitness.
His husband, 40-year-old Donald Zieben-Hood — a runway model and influencer — has since been arrested. While he has not yet been charged with murder, he was arraigned on Sunday, August 3, on charges of burglary, criminal contempt, and weapons possession. Authorities are actively investigating the case as a homicide.
Court records indicate the couple had a volatile history, including multiple domestic abuse allegations going back to 2022. At the time of Jacob’s death, Donald had two open criminal contempt cases, including one for allegedly strangling Jacob twice in a single night.
On the evening before the tragedy, the couple reportedly got into a heated altercation. According to PIX11, Jacob called his father during the fight and said Donald wouldn’t let him leave the apartment and was threatening him with a knife. Jacob’s father claimed he could hear Donald in the background yelling insults.
Donald later told police he fell asleep after the dispute and woke up hours later to find Jacob dead. He then called 911 and allegedly told the dispatcher he was worried about being arrested due to an existing protective order.
When officers arrived, Donald reportedly had three cuts on his arm that required stitches. He initially told police that Jacob had attacked him with a knife.
Prosecutors allege Donald used a knife to cut Jacob on the head and leg before calling 911.
The New York Police Department and the state court system have not released additional details, and it remains unclear if Donald has retained legal counsel. As the investigation continues, the case is drawing widespread attention due to the couple’s high-profile presence online — and the tragic end to a turbulent relationship.
