Popular MasterChef contestant and TikTok influencer Yanin Campos has died following a devastating car crash in her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico. She was 38.

According to reports, Campos lost control of her SUV on Saturday, veered off the road, and crashed into a parked car with such force that her vehicle was totaled. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but sadly succumbed to her injuries two days later.

Her brother, Raúl Campos, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a post on social media: “To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos.”

Campos first won over fans on the 2018 season of MasterChef México, where she placed sixth. Her popularity earned her an invitation to return the following year for MasterChef: La Revancha. Since then, she built a strong social media following, amassing nearly 100,000 TikTok fans who loved her cooking content and relatable personality.

Tributes have been pouring in across social media from devastated fans. “I can’t believe this,” one follower wrote. “I’ve followed you since MasterChef — you always seemed genuine and said the right things. A hug to heaven, rest in peace.”

Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
