Brazilian bodybuilding powerhouse Ricardo Nolasco dos Santos—better known as “Kadu Santos”—has died at just 31. The shock news came on Monday, October 20, from his home state of Rio Grande do Sul. The cause of his death has not yet been shared publicly.

His father, Amauri Santos, posted on social media describing the moment as “the saddest day of my life. My beloved son.”

Kadu had already built an impressive résumé: he was an 11‑time bodybuilding champion and twice the overall winner of the regional Muscle Contest competition. On Instagram, where he counted over 13,000 followers, he regularly shared his intense training routines, fitness advice, and moments of his personal life.

Just months before his passing, he proposed on stage to his longtime girlfriend, trainer Sabrina Wollman, in an emotional public moment marking their four‑year relationship.

His fiancé had posted: “I love you with all my heart. I admire you and I’m so proud of what we’ve become together.” Friends and fellow athletes flooded social media with tributes, calling him an extraordinary coach, athlete, and person who inspired many.

Kadu worked not only as a competitor but also as a trainer and online consultant, helping others chase their fitness goals.

Funeral services were held in Novo Hamburgo, near Porto Alegre, following a wake. The details of his passing remain unclear, which adds to the heartbreak for the fitness community.
