A Walt Disney World cast member was injured during a live stunt show after stepping in to stop a dangerous mishap that could have sent a massive prop crashing into the audience.
The incident happened at Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where a 400-pound ball used in one of the show’s signature scenes suddenly broke free and rolled off its intended path.
Video of the moment, shared to TikTok on Wednesday, shows the ball speeding toward seated guests as a cast member named Robert reacts instantly. Without hesitation, he ran directly toward the massive sphere and attempted to stop it before it reached the crowd.
The impact knocked Robert backward, sending him crashing to the ground and striking the back of his head on the hard floor. Despite the force of the collision, his quick action successfully redirected the ball and prevented it from reaching the audience.
“We were sitting there and didn’t know what was going on,” one guest told People. “Then all of a sudden a worker named Robert stepped in front and saved us from getting smashed.”
Footage shows Robert being escorted from the stage with visible blood on his head. According to a post on X from someone who identified themselves as a friend, the cast member was taken to the hospital and received six stitches.
“He’s a former stunt man and his quick thinking saved many,” the friend wrote, calling Robert’s actions heroic and asking people to keep him in their prayers.
Disney has not publicly commented on the incident, but the video has sparked widespread praise online for Robert’s bravery and split-second decision that may have prevented a serious tragedy.
