Barry Manilow is sharing a hopeful sign amid his ongoing health battle.
The legendary singer posted an update Friday night that reassured fans following his recent lung cancer diagnosis. In the Instagram photo, Manilow appears to be resting in a hospital bed, smiling warmly at the camera. He kept the message short and optimistic, writing simply: “Better today!”
The update comes weeks after Barry Manilow revealed that doctors had discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung after he spent months battling bronchitis. In a message shared Dec. 22, the “Copacabana” singer said the cancer was caught early — something he called “the good news.”
“The bad news is that now that the Christmas A Gift of Love concerts are over, I’m going into surgery to have the spot removed,” Manilow wrote at the time. He added that doctors do not believe the cancer has spread and that further tests were being done to confirm that assessment.
“So that’s it,” he continued. “No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”
Manilow also announced he would be postponing his scheduled arena concerts while he recovers, with plans to return to the stage in late February.
Fans flooded his latest post with messages of love and support, relieved to see the music icon in good spirits as he continues his recovery.
