Kane Brown was forced to miss a Nashville event at the last minute after a freak golf course accident left him with a concussion and 23 stitches.

The country superstar, 32, had been scheduled to perform Tuesday, June 23, at Tight Ends & Friends, an event presented by Sports Illustrated and Reese’s at The Pinnacle in Nashville.

But Brown had to pull out of the lineup after a golf ball struck him in the head and left him with a bloody injury.

The next day, Brown gave fans an update on Instagram, revealing he had been diagnosed with a “minor concussion” and needed “23 stitches.”

“Shot in the head by a golf ball,” Brown wrote alongside a photo showing his ear looking badly injured.

In another post, Brown appeared to be in good spirits while recovering. He shared a video from a Chick-fil-A drive-thru as he waited for food and joked about the scary situation.

“That said, it will prob get worse over the next 48 hours, but I’m alive, and that’s all that matters,” he wrote. “Holy crap.”

He later posted another photo showing the injury behind his ear and wrote, “Just a scratch.”

Brown also explained more about the accident in a TikTok video, saying the ball that hit him was moving fast.

“A lot of people, they think that the ball came over multiple fairways,” Brown said. “No, this one, it was my own buddy. I ain’t going to name any names. He feels terrible, but he needs to know that I’m good.”

Brown said he had already hit his drive when the accident happened.

“I went to the hospital,” he said. “I had a split ear and some swelling.”

The singer said the ball may have been traveling between 150 and 180 miles per hour after his friend hit a three-wood slice.

“It was about a 150 to 180 mile an hour ball, a three-wood slice,” Brown said. “I’m just glad I’m here.”

Despite the painful injury, Brown indicated he still planned to travel by bus to Wisconsin for a June 25 concert.
