Olympic skiing legend Bode Miller is facing criminal charges in Idaho after prosecutors accused him of drug possession.
Miller, one of the most decorated alpine skiers in U.S. history, was charged with two misdemeanor counts tied to an alleged incident on June 6, according to court records obtained by TMZ Sports.
The 48-year-old former Olympic medalist is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records show Miller posted a $5,000 cash bond and was later released.
He has already pleaded not guilty to both charges. His attorney also filed an appearance on his behalf shortly after the case was opened, according to the records.
The case remains active, and Miller is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on July 29.
Miller became a household name during his long skiing career, winning six Olympic medals, including a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. He also captured two overall World Cup titles and earned dozens of World Cup victories before retiring from professional skiing in 2017.
For years, Miller was known as one of the boldest and most unpredictable athletes on the slopes, building a reputation for taking risks that sometimes led to spectacular wins and other times ended in dramatic crashes.
Now, the retired ski star is facing a legal battle far from the mountain.
Miller has not publicly commented on the charges.
