Jared Leto is facing a new wave of serious allegations after four women accused the Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman of criminal sexual conduct when they were teenagers or young adults.
The allegations are featured in the BBC documentary “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” which includes interviews with 10 women. Nine of them reportedly spoke publicly about their experiences for the first time.
Leto, 54, has strongly denied the claims.
“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” he said in a statement shared through his representatives. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
CBS News said it has not independently verified the allegations, and Leto has never been criminally charged in connection with the claims.
The women described alleged encounters with Leto between 2002 and 2016, when he was in his 30s and 40s.
One woman, identified by the BBC as Isabel, said she was 17 when she met Leto at a motel. She alleged that he began kissing her and used her hand during a sexual act before she pulled away and said she wanted to leave.
Isabel claimed Leto eventually put on a towel and allowed her to leave after appearing to check whether anyone was nearby.
Another woman, identified as Clara, told the BBC she had sex with Leto at his California home when she was 17 and he was 34. Her friend was allegedly waiting in another room at the time.
Under California law, sexual activity between an adult and a person younger than 18 may be classified as statutory rape.
Clara claimed Leto asked her to call him “daddy” and described herself at the time as “naive and vulnerable.”
“There is no well-adjusted man in his 30s who’s going to look at a teenager and think she would be a great partner,” she told the BBC.
A third woman alleged that Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19 and alone with him in a hotel room.
Another woman, identified as Etta, claimed Leto sent her sexually explicit emails while knowing she was 16. She said he later sent her a non-disclosure agreement, which she never signed.
The BBC said it reviewed the alleged NDA, as well as photographs and messages that appeared to support portions of several women’s accounts.
The network also said it spoke with relatives and friends who were aware of some of the alleged interactions at the time.
Two men who previously worked with Thirty Seconds to Mars told the BBC that employees had been uncomfortable with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls.
They claimed he occasionally invited young fans into his dressing room or to the home where the band was recording.
“I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big,” one former employee said.
The documentary follows another major report published in June 2025, when nine women accused Leto of sexual impropriety in an article by Air Mail.
That report included allegations from Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz, who said Leto assaulted her when she was 17. A representative for the actor denied her account and called the allegations “demonstrably false.”
The BBC said it identified more than 120 separate allegations concerning Leto’s behavior toward women. Many were posted online, and some dated back years.
Despite the growing number of claims, no criminal charges have been filed against Leto.
The actor won an Academy Award for best supporting actor in 2014 for his performance in “Dallas Buyers Club.”
He is also scheduled to tour Europe and the United Kingdom with Thirty Seconds to Mars next year.
