Filipino singer Vanessa Blanca, a former member of the group Sugarpop, has died at age 30 after suffering a devastating fall inside a condominium in Manila.
Blanca, whose full name was Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol, died on Aug. 19, 2026, after what her family described as an accident at the condominium where she was staying.
Her cousin Ivy Ann Salaum Jubelag announced the heartbreaking news on Facebook.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my beloved first cousin and little sister, Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol,” she wrote.
Jubelag said Blanca was the only daughter of her aunt, Anabella Quillo-Kalinski, making the loss especially painful for the family.
“She was not only my cousin, but also someone I cherished and considered my little sister,” she added.
The family asked for privacy as they mourn and said details about Blanca’s wake and funeral would be announced later.
“Rest peacefully, my dear Wani. You were deeply loved, and you will forever be remembered and missed,” Jubelag wrote.
Blanca was best known for the hip-hop song “DOTA O Ako,” which she recorded with rapper Aikee. She also gained recognition as a member of the Filipino music group Sugarpop.
In another post, Jubelag revealed more details about the accident.
She said Blanca had been getting dressed when she “tripped and fell” in the bathroom.
The fall caused a severe traumatic brain injury and internal bleeding in her brain, according to the family.
“Despite the effort made to secure urgent medical assistance and take her to the hospital, Vanessa sadly passed away,” Jubelag wrote.
