Former 7 Little Johnstons star Anna Johnston has found herself in legal trouble after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Georgia, adding another unexpected chapter to her life following a highly publicized falling-out with her family.
The 26-year-old reality television personality was arrested Saturday, October 10, in Houston County, Georgia, after police encountered her vehicle stopped along a highway.
According to booking records, Johnston was taken into custody on a DUI charge and released the following day after posting a $1,563 bond.
But newly reported details from the police report reveal that the arrest followed an argument between Johnston and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Meservy, who was also taken into custody on an unrelated matter.
According to officers, Johnston had been driving Meservy and his cousin when the couple got into an argument, prompting her to pull over.
When police arrived, Meservy was reportedly standing outside the vehicle in the rain, attempting to arrange transportation for the group.
He allegedly told officers he was concerned about Johnston continuing to drive because he believed she had been drinking.
Johnston offered a different explanation, reportedly telling officers that the disagreement concerned which route they should take.
However, the responding officer noted that her speech appeared slurred and that she seemed unsteady on her feet.
Police also reported smelling alcohol and said Johnston’s passenger claimed she had consumed a shot of liquor before driving.
Johnston reportedly denied drinking.
According to the police report, she subsequently underwent field sobriety testing and registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.139%, above Georgia’s legal limit of 0.08% for drivers 21 and older.
She was arrested and transported to the Houston County Jail.
Meanwhile, officers discovered that Meservy had an outstanding warrant involving allegations of forgery. He was also arrested, with his bond reportedly set at $47,350.
The arrest attracted additional attention after Johnston appeared to be smiling in her booking photograph, which quickly circulated online.
Johnston has not publicly provided a detailed response to the allegations, and no conviction has been reported.
The legal trouble comes during an already complicated period for the former TLC personality.
Johnston became a familiar face to television audiences when 7 Little Johnstons premiered in March 2015.
The series follows Trent and Amber Johnston and their five children, Jonah, Anna, Elizabeth, Alex and Emma, as they navigate everyday life. All seven family members have achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism.
Anna, whom Trent and Amber adopted in 2004, became a central part of the show over the years.
However, tensions between Anna and her adoptive parents eventually developed into a public family rift.
During the show’s 16th season, Anna discussed her strained relationship with her family and explained that disagreements had escalated following her brother Jonah’s graduation.
She said her parents were upset because she had not taken family photographs at the event, and communication between them gradually deteriorated.
Anna later admitted regretting missing her younger siblings Alex and Emma’s graduation but said she had felt increasingly disconnected from her relatives.
By December 2025, she made it clear that she was ready to move forward rather than continue trying to repair relationships that seemed to be going nowhere.
Her absence became especially noticeable when the show’s 17th season premiered in March 2026.
While the rest of the family continued filming, Anna did not return to the series.
Her parents have publicly expressed hope that they can eventually repair their relationship with her.
“We’re not going to give up on Anna,” Trent previously said, explaining that he and Amber would be willing to work toward reconciliation whenever their daughter was ready.
Despite the ongoing family difficulties, Anna has continued sharing updates about her life with followers on social media.
Her latest arrest has now brought renewed attention to the former reality star, although it remains unclear whether the incident will have any effect on her relationship with her family.
Authorities have not publicly announced the outcome of the DUI case or confirmed her next court appearance.
