Legendary Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has died at the age of 91, the company he founded announced Thursday.

“With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani,” the fashion house said in a statement.

The statement confirmed that Armani “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones,” adding that he “worked tirelessly until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, its collections, and countless projects still in progress.”
