The walls may be closing in on Prince Andrew — again.
King Charles is reportedly weighing a drastic move that could see his disgraced brother stripped of his royal title, the Duke of York, amid fresh scandal surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.
According to The Times, palace insiders say the 76-year-old King is “considering all options” as new revelations reignite outrage over Andrew’s past connections to the convicted sex offender. One potential outcome? Forcing the prince to surrender the dukedom that has defined his royal identity for nearly four decades.
But there’s a catch — removing a royal title requires an act of Parliament. Still, with growing public and political support, royal experts say Charles could get his wish if Andrew doesn’t step down voluntarily.
The Times reports there’s a “sense of concern and anxiety” inside Buckingham Palace following a new wave of damaging headlines — including revelations that Andrew was also connected to a Chinese Communist Party official at the center of a separate spy scandal.
Another possible punishment on the table: stripping him of his position as a Knight of the Order of the Garter, one of Britain’s most prestigious honors.
Andrew, 65, was forced to step back from royal duties in 2019 after his now-infamous BBC interview about Epstein — an appearance so disastrous that it effectively ended his public career. The late Queen Elizabeth later removed his military titles and royal patronages in 2022, but allowed him to keep the Duke of York title.
Though he has long denied wrongdoing, Andrew quietly settled a civil sexual assault lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre for an undisclosed sum that same year. Giuffre, who accused Epstein and his associates of trafficking her as a teenager, died by suicide earlier this year.
Andrew’s troubles have flared up again thanks to newly unearthed emails. One 2011 message reportedly shows the Duke writing to Epstein, “It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it,” sent just a day after the infamous photo of Andrew with Giuffre was published.
The email suggests Andrew was still in contact with Epstein despite publicly claiming he’d cut ties. The revelation undermines his 2019 statement to the BBC, where he insisted he visited Epstein in 2010 only to end their friendship.
And the scandal doesn’t stop there — another resurfaced email shows Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, calling Epstein “a steadfast, generous and supreme friend” even after publicly disavowing him. Several charities have since cut ties with her.
The Duke of York, who received his title upon marrying Ferguson in 1986, remains eighth in line to the throne — behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children.
As for King Charles, insiders say he’s determined to protect the monarchy’s reputation, even if it means turning his back on his own brother. Whether Andrew voluntarily steps down or is stripped of his title by force, one thing is clear: the royal family’s Epstein nightmare is far from over.
