Nate Smith and Morgan Wallen

Nate Smith is admitting he made a pretty dumb move while out on tour with Morgan Wallen, and somehow, Wallen let it slide.

During a recent interview, Smith revealed that he once threw a drink at the “Last Night” singer while they were on stage together. Yes, an actual full cup.

Smith said he thought he was being funny in the moment, but it quickly became clear that nobody else agreed.

“One of the nights during the tour, I may have thrown a drink at him on stage,” Smith said. “I thought I was trying to be funny, and it wasn’t funny.”

He did not try to sugarcoat it either. Smith admitted Wallen probably should have kicked him off the tour over the stunt.

Instead, Wallen forgave him.

According to Smith, the two later laughed about the awkward moment on FaceTime after he apologized. He said Wallen responded with surprising calm and told him he understood, even suggesting he might have done the same thing himself.

Smith made it clear the incident caused some serious fallout behind the scenes. He said he got plenty of phone calls afterward and that “nobody was happy” about what happened.

Still, Wallen chose not to retaliate.

Smith even joked that he spent the rest of the tour waiting for payback that never came.

He thanked Wallen for showing grace and holding back instead of turning the prank war into something bigger.

The story is especially eyebrow-raising given Wallen’s own history of headline-making behavior. The country superstar was arrested in April 2024 after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar, leading to reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct charges.

A year later, Wallen said he had not been back to a bar since that incident and opened up about how fame has changed his life. He admitted there are plenty of things he just does not do anymore because living in the spotlight means constantly being on edge.
