Brazilian bodybuilder and content creator Gabriel Ganley has died at just 22 years old, leaving fans, fellow athletes, and the fitness world stunned.
His death was confirmed by Integralmedica, a Brazilian supplement brand that sponsored the young athlete.
On Saturday, May 23, the company shared a tribute post featuring a photo of Ganley flexing his arms while surrounded by smiling fans doing the same pose.
“Pain speaks louder today,” the company wrote in Portuguese.
Integralmedica remembered Ganley as someone who “lived intensely” and praised the way he supported his fans, including children, with warmth, energy, and kindness.
The brand said it had lost far more than a talented athlete.
“Today we lost far more than a talented and dedicated athlete with a bright future ahead,” the statement read. “We lost a sports influencer who inspired thousands of young people daily with his energy, discipline and authenticity.”
The company added that Ganley left a mark everywhere he went.
“His charisma, his presence, and his passion for life will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him and walking alongside him,” the tribute continued.
Ganley’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
CNN Brasil reported that he was found dead in the kitchen of his apartment in São Paulo on May 23. Citing a statement from the local Public Security Secretariat, the outlet reported that a friend discovered him and that there were no apparent signs of violence at the scene.
Authorities are reportedly investigating the case as a suspicious and sudden death.
Ganley had built a massive online following before his death. He had 2.3 million followers on Instagram, where he regularly posted gym videos, workout photos, and bodybuilding content.
He also had 1.3 million followers on TikTok and more than 403,000 subscribers on YouTube.
In the days after his death was announced, fellow fitness creators and fans flooded his social media pages with tributes.
“You will always be with us, kid, your pure soul was a gift to those of us who knew you,” fellow bodybuilder Renato Cariani wrote under Ganley’s final post.
Just last month, Ganley shared an emotional video documenting his bodybuilding journey over the years.
The clip showed him struggling to lift heavy weights when he was younger before transitioning into more recent footage of him confidently flexing onstage in front of an audience.
“While there’s a 1% chance, there’s 99% faith,” he wrote in Portuguese.
For fans, that message now feels especially heartbreaking.
Ganley had become a symbol of discipline, ambition, and positivity for young people who followed his fitness journey online.
