Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been arrested in Wisconsin after police say he turned himself in following a domestic violence investigation.
Jacobs, 28, was booked into the Brown County Jail on Tuesday afternoon after a complaint was made on May 23, according to jail records and police.
The NFL star is now facing five charges: battery-domestic abuse, criminal damage to property-domestic abuse, disorderly conduct-domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
According to Brown County Jail records, the strangulation and suffocation charge is a felony. The other four charges are misdemeanors.
Jacobs denies the allegations, his attorneys said.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department said officers were called to a disturbance involving Jacobs on Saturday at about 8:37 a.m.
“As a result of the investigation, Josh Jacobs was subsequently arrested on May 26, 2026, and booked into the Brown County Jail,” the department said in a statement.
Police said the case remains active and ongoing, and no additional details would be released at this time.
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac, strongly pushed back on the accusations in a statement.
“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public,” they said. “We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”
The Packers also acknowledged the situation but declined to say more because the case is ongoing.
“We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs,” the team said in a statement to NFL Network. “As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment.”
The NFL is also aware of the report and has reportedly been in contact with the Packers.
Jacobs joined Green Bay after beginning his NFL career with the Raiders, who selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
He signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers in March 2024. His contract is set to run for the next two seasons.
During the 2025 season, Jacobs rushed 234 times for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 36 passes for 282 yards and one receiving touchdown.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is expected to speak with reporters after Wednesday’s open practice, just after the team opened OTAs on Tuesday.
Jacobs also made headlines earlier this year after sparking dating rumors with influencer and OnlyFans model Ash Kash. The speculation started after he shared a Snapchat video in February showing the two holding hands on a beach.
Neither Jacobs nor Kash publicly commented on the rumors.
