Former NFL standout and longtime sports broadcaster Marcellus Wiley was arrested in Florida over the July 4 holiday weekend on a domestic battery charge.

Wiley, 51, was booked into the Orange County Jail on July 4, according to jail records obtained by TMZ Sports.

Custody records listed the former defensive end as being held without bond following his arrest.

Details about the alleged incident, including who was involved and what reportedly led to Wiley’s arrest, were not immediately available.

Wiley and his representatives had not publicly commented on the charge.

The arrest comes just months after Wiley faced separate allegations from four women who accused him of sexual assault in April.

Wiley denied those accusations during a May episode of his podcast.

“They are attempting to leverage lies for personal gain, as they say, assassination by accusation, that’s their goal,” Wiley said. “They trying by lying.”

Wiley spent nearly a decade in the NFL after the Buffalo Bills selected him in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft.

He later played for the San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Wiley earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2001 after recording a career-high 13 sacks while playing for the Chargers.

After retiring from professional football, Wiley built a successful career in sports media. He worked at ESPN and Fox Sports and became a familiar face to viewers as a co-host on several sports debate programs.

Additional information about the domestic battery allegation has not yet been released.
