Stefon Diggs’ legal battle with his male sexual assault accuser has taken another turn, with the accuser now claiming he has handed over more than 100 pages of messages and communications involving the NFL star.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Christopher Griffith claims he produced over 100 pages of communications between himself and Diggs, including iMessage texts and Instagram messages.
The filing comes after Diggs claimed Griffith had failed to turn over Instagram messages that could be relevant to the case. Griffith, however, argues that Diggs already has access to those messages himself.
Diggs has reportedly pushed back by saying Griffith blocked him on Instagram, leaving him unable to view their old conversations. Because of that, Diggs asked the judge to order Griffith to hand over the Instagram messages.
The dispute is part of a larger and much more serious court fight between the two men.
Diggs, a star NFL wide receiver, previously sued Griffith for defamation, accusing him of spreading false claims about him. Griffith then countersued Diggs, alleging that he was drugged and sexually assaulted at Diggs’ home.
Diggs denies that the alleged assault ever happened.
At the center of the case are Griffith’s claims that he was drugged and sexually assaulted while at Diggs’ residence. Diggs says those accusations are false and damaging, which is why he filed the defamation lawsuit.
Now, both sides are fighting over evidence, including messages exchanged before and after the alleged incident. Griffith says he has already turned over a large batch of communications to support his claims, while Diggs wants the court to make sure the Instagram messages are fully produced.
