Reality television personality Sidney Starr has been arrested in Georgia and is facing multiple felony charges involving a minor.
Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, was taken into custody on Sunday, August 2, following an alleged incident at an Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel in Hapeville, just outside Atlanta.
According to court and booking records, Starr has been charged with sexual battery against a child under the age of 16, aggravated child molestation and sodomy.
Police reportedly responded to the hotel, located in the 3400 block of International Boulevard, after receiving a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile.
According to information contained in an arrest warrant and reported by local media, Starr allegedly admitted to performing oral sex on a boy but claimed the encounter had been consensual.
A minor cannot legally consent to such conduct under the circumstances alleged by authorities.
The Hapeville Police Department arrested Starr and transported her to the Fulton County Jail. She remained in custody without a listed release date as of the latest available reports. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office is handling the prosecution.
Police have declined to release additional information about the alleged victim or the circumstances surrounding the case because it involves a juvenile.
“Because this case involves a juvenile, no additional information will be released from our agency,” a Hapeville Police Department spokesperson said.
Starr has publicly denied the accusations.
In a statement released following her arrest, the reality star said she “unequivocally denies the allegations against her” and intends to fight the charges through the legal process.
She also warned that allegations should not be treated as proven facts and asked the public to allow the case to proceed through the courts. Starr thanked those who had supported her and requested privacy while the case remains pending.
Starr also said her arrest should not be used to stigmatize the wider transgender community, arguing that allegations involving one person should not be viewed as a reflection of an entire group.
Her mother, Stephanie Favors, described the accusations as “completely out of character” for her daughter. She also said she had not spoken with Starr since the arrest.
Starr had reportedly traveled to Georgia to host a reunion event for Industry Girl, a reality competition series available through Ray J’s Tronix Network.
The reunion was scheduled to take place at Encore Film Studios on Sunday evening. However, because authorities did not publicly confirm the exact time of Starr’s arrest, it remains unclear whether she attended or missed the event. A representative for Ray J declined to comment on the arrest.
Starr is best known for appearing during the ninth season of Love & Hip Hop: New York in 2019. She later appeared on Baddies ATL, Baddies South, Botched and Black Ink Crew: Chicago.
She has also had minor acting roles on television shows including The Chi, Empire and Boomerang.
Starr initially gained widespread attention after claiming she had been involved in a sexual relationship with rapper Chingy. She later admitted that the story was fabricated and apologized.
Chingy has said the false rumor damaged his public image and had a serious impact on his career.
The allegations against Starr have not been proven in court, and no plea or trial date had been publicly announced as of the latest reports. Authorities have not disclosed further information about what led police to the hotel or how the alleged incident was reported.
