Billy Baldwin is reigniting his decades-old feud with Sharon Stone, claiming tensions between the two became so bad while filming “Sliver” that he once begged producers not to make him kiss her.
The 63-year-old actor opened up about working with Stone, 68, during an appearance on the “Lisa Guerrero Unleashed” podcast, saying their relationship started off well before quickly falling apart.
“We got along pretty well the first couple weeks,” Baldwin said.
But according to him, things soon turned icy.
“And then she wouldn’t say ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’ to me for the next three months,” he claimed.
Baldwin said the tension became so uncomfortable that he eventually arranged a meeting with producers of the 1993 erotic thriller to tell them he did not want to film the final one of the movie’s four love scenes.
He ultimately agreed to do it, but said he pleaded with producers, “Don’t make me kiss her. … I can’t kiss her.”
According to Baldwin, that decision helped lead to one of the movie’s most memorable scenes, in which his character, Zeke Hawkins, and Stone’s character, Carly Norris, become intimate against a support column.
Baldwin also pushed back against claims Stone made in her 2021 memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice.”
Stone previously alleged that producer Robert Evans pressured her to sleep with Baldwin in an effort to improve his performance.
But Baldwin now claims he was given a similar speech.
“He wasn’t talking about Sharon not being able to act,” Baldwin said, adding that Stone had an “11 out of 10” screen presence.
Instead, Baldwin said Evans was concerned about the intense tension between the two stars.
“He was saying, ‘I keep getting reports that there’s incredibly bad tension,’” Baldwin recalled.
According to Baldwin, Evans allegedly told him, “We know what it’s all about. All this pent-up sexual energy tension. Just do it and get it over with.”
Stone wrote in her memoir that refusing to sleep with Baldwin contributed to her being labeled “difficult” by powerful men in Hollywood.
“In the good ol’ days, with the good ol’ no-rules, women as superstars were not a darling of the system,” she wrote. “They preferred us to be ornaments. I was supposed to do what I was told.”
Baldwin called Stone “silly” for suggesting she was pressured to sleep with him and also criticized her for publicly attacking his acting abilities.
He specifically pointed to comments Stone made on “Larry King Live” around the time of “Sliver’s” premiere and again decades later.
The actor also made several other startling claims about his former co-star.
Baldwin alleged that Stone once had a shrine dedicated to him inside her trailer, complete with candles and photographs.
He also claimed Stone spent days walking on crutches after he accidentally stepped on her while wearing only socks during a scene.
Another allegation involved model Janice Dickinson.
Baldwin claimed Stone once told Dickinson that she planned to make him “fall so hard” for her that his “head would f–king spin.”
Dickinson has previously denied that such a conversation ever happened.
Despite all the lingering bitterness, Baldwin said he does not necessarily want the feud to continue forever.
He said he would be open to eventually burying the hatchet with Stone and hopes the two could one day “shake her hand” or even “give her a hug.”
However, he also made clear that he has no interest in working with Stone again, saying the tension between them during “Sliver” made everyone on set “miserable.”
