What was supposed to be an exciting night for fans at New York Comic Con turned into a profanity-filled confrontation when actor and comedian Brandon Rogers erupted at a disruptive audience member, repeatedly demanding that the person be removed from the event.
The 38-year-old YouTube star, best known for his work on the adult animated series Helluva Boss, stunned the crowd Thursday, October 8, after an unidentified attendee repeatedly interrupted a panel discussion featuring the show’s cast.
The heated exchange unfolded at New York City’s Javits Center, where Rogers was joined by series creator Vivienne Medrano and fellow voice actors Harvey Guillén and Vivian Nixon.
Video footage circulating on social media shows the panelists attempting to answer questions and discuss their popular animated series while someone in the audience repeatedly shouted over them.

At first, Medrano appeared to brush off the interruptions with humor.
“Thank you, good energy to start off,” she remarked following one of the outbursts.
But as the disruptions continued, Rogers visibly lost his patience.
After the fourth interruption, the comedian turned toward the audience member and delivered an explosive warning.
“You need to shut the f— up right now. I’m going to jump over this fence and end you. It’s not cute,” Rogers shouted.
The confrontation did not end there.
When the attendee interrupted again, Rogers rose from his chair and walked toward the edge of the stage, demanding that the person leave immediately.
“You need to get the f— out right now or I will make you leave,” he warned.
Rogers then turned his attention toward convention employees, apparently frustrated that nobody had stepped in to stop the repeated disruptions.
“Isn’t there someone in a vest? Bulletproof one, maybe?” he asked before returning to his seat.
Despite the confrontation, the heckling continued.
One particularly tense moment occurred while Nixon, the daughter of acclaimed actress and choreographer Debbie Allen, was speaking about motherhood.
The audience member interrupted yet again, prompting Rogers to unleash another angry response.
“Is anyone working at this f—ing event? Can someone please get this motherf—er the hell out of here? I swear to God,” he shouted.
The incident quickly attracted attention online as footage of the exchange spread across social media.
While Rogers’ language and confrontational remarks were unusually aggressive for a convention panel, the actor later explained that he believed the attendee had crossed the line by repeatedly disrespecting his fellow performers.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Rogers said the event was intended to celebrate the series and the community of fans who support it.
He explained that his frustration came from seeing cast members interrupted and the experience disrupted for people who had waited hours to attend.
Rogers defended his decision to intervene, saying he would protect the space when disruptive behavior interfered with the event.
New York Comic Con organizers also addressed the controversy, acknowledging that the repeated interruptions should have been handled more quickly.
ReedPop, the company behind the convention, apologized to the panelists, moderator and audience members.
The company confirmed that the situation was addressed after the panel but admitted its response had been too slow.
Organizers said they were taking steps to respond more quickly to similar disturbances at future events.
The identity of the disruptive attendee has not been publicly confirmed, and details about how staff ultimately handled the individual remain limited. There have been no confirmed reports of a physical confrontation between Rogers and the audience member.
The unexpected drama overshadowed what had been planned as a major promotional appearance for Helluva Boss, which was celebrating its upcoming third season with a special presentation and premiere screening.
The adult animated comedy follows a group of demons who operate an assassination business in Hell. Known for its outrageous humor, musical performances and colorful characters, the series originally built a massive online following through YouTube.
Rogers helped develop the show’s original concept and serves as a writer and voice actor, portraying the central character Blitzo.
The series has also featured appearances by several recognizable entertainment personalities, including The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, pop star Kesha and RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite Jinkx Monsoon.
Its growing popularity helped bring the show to Prime Video, introducing the animated franchise to an even wider audience.
The Comic Con appearance was intended to give fans an opportunity to hear directly from the people behind the series and get an early look at its newest installment.
Instead, the evening became one of the convention’s most talked-about moments after Rogers repeatedly confronted the disruptive attendee in front of the crowd.
Despite the incident, cast members continued sharing photos and highlights from their convention experience on social media.
New York Comic Con, one of the country’s largest pop culture gatherings, is scheduled to continue through Sunday, October 11, with celebrity appearances, television presentations and special events.
For Rogers, the viral confrontation has brought unexpected attention to the Helluva Boss panel, while raising questions about how quickly convention staff should intervene when audience behavior repeatedly disrupts a live event.
