In a surprising pre-holiday mishap, an Amazon driver admitted to abandoning around 80 packages in a wooded area near Lakeville, Massachusetts, just days before Christmas.
Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins shared that early Sunday morning, an officer on routine patrol discovered three totes filled with undelivered Amazon packages scattered in the woods near an Amazon fulfillment center.
Officers collected the packages and brought them to the police station for inventory. By Monday, the driver responsible had come forward, explaining they dumped the packages Saturday evening due to being “stressed.”
Police are not pursuing criminal charges, instead treating the incident as a human resources issue for Amazon.
“I am proud of the way our officers handled and investigated this matter,” Perkins said. “We are considering this a matter for Amazon to address internally.”
The abandoned packages were returned to the fulfillment center, and no reports of stolen or missing items have been filed.
This incident highlights the mounting pressure delivery drivers face during the holiday season, as Amazon workers nationwide are also striking for better wages, benefits, and working conditions.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters recently launched the largest Amazon strike in U.S. history, targeting fulfillment centers across major cities like New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

And they are striking for a pay raise.
These guys are on the go more than 8 hours ,the stress must be terrible . We can’t find enough people to help us do the work.
