Robert De Niro is turning his home into a fortress.

The legendary actor, 81, is reportedly taking dramatic steps to protect himself and his family after privately revealing he lives in constant fear of being attacked by a radical Donald Trump supporter. According to insiders, De Niro is now seriously looking into installing panic rooms in his properties.

“He’s resisted doing this for years,” one source told us. “But the threats have gotten real. He’s finally decided it’s time to take every possible precaution.”

Sources close to De Niro say the Hollywood icon has already beefed up personal security in recent months, and panic rooms are the next logical step.

“He used to hate the idea—it felt too paranoid,” the insider continued. “But now? He knows he’s a potential target. The MAGA fringe can be dangerous, and Robert knows it.”

The actor’s history of fierce, unapologetic Trump criticism has made him a lightning rod for backlash from the former president’s most extreme fans. He’s blasted Trump in speeches, interviews, and even once said he’d love to punch him in the face.

“He’s a bully,” De Niro said in a recent interview. “And you can’t let bullies win.”

But behind the tough talk, there’s now caution. While he refuses to be silenced, De Niro has accepted the risk that comes with speaking out—and is taking steps to ensure his safety.

The panic rooms—sometimes called “safe spaces” by sellers—can cost anywhere from $50,000 to $1 million. High-end versions include fingerprint scanners, electrified door handles, and even pepper spray cannons.

“He’s not just thinking about himself,” the source said. “This is about protecting his kids and partner too.”

De Niro reportedly explored panic rooms during a home search with his now-ex Grace Hightower back in 2001. At the time, she wasn’t a fan of the idea. But now that they’ve split, our source says he’s “not confused about it anymore.”

“He wants to make sure his family is protected for years to come. Even if that means scaring them a little to keep them safe.”

The Goodfellas star isn’t alone. Security firms say a record number of wealthy New Yorkers are installing panic rooms amid rising concerns about political violence and civil unrest.

Fellow celebs like Madonna, Paul McCartney, and the late Joan Rivers have all reportedly had panic rooms installed in their homes.

“Robert is realistic,” the insider added. “When someone like Trump keeps fueling division and anger, it’s only smart to take steps to protect yourself.”

In addition to panic rooms, sources say De Niro has added 24/7 security staff, surveillance systems, and even drone coverage at his properties.

“He’s not hiding, but he’s not taking chances either,” said the source. “He knows what’s at stake.”

  1. he is a horrible man… but Trump supporters are not the violent people…. he has lost his mind

  2. Panic room wont keep him from getting shot. He keeps shooting himself in the foot over and over again no matter where he goes.
