What started as a seemingly harmless snack turned into a serious medical scare for three British Airways flight attendants.

According to reports, the crew members were hospitalized after unknowingly eating cannabis-infused gummies given to them by a passenger before departing London’s Heathrow Airport on a flight bound for Los Angeles.

The incident reportedly unfolded after the flight landed in L.A. The crew consumed the gummies while riding on their transport bus after touchdown, not realizing the sweets allegedly contained up to 300 milligrams of THC — an extremely high dose of the psychoactive compound found in cannabis.

An insider told The Sun that the tired flight attendants “gratefully gobbled them up” — but quickly realized something wasn’t right.

“Almost immediately, BA staff realised something was wrong,” the source said. By the time the group reached their hotel, three crew members who had eaten multiple gummies reportedly began experiencing what were described as “out-of-body” sensations.

“They felt totally out of control and panicked,” the insider added.

The symptoms worsened, and the three were taken to a hospital for treatment. Medical professionals later determined the gummies were among the strongest cannabis edibles available, allegedly containing around 300mg of THC each — far more than a typical recreational dose.

British Airways management grounded the entire crew following the incident. A replacement team was brought in to operate the return flight to London, while the affected crew members were flown back days later as passengers after recovering.

“Some people might find this incident funny, but it is being treated very seriously by BA,” the source told the outlet. “If an entire crew became incapacitated at 30,000 feet after ingesting drugs, the consequences don’t bear thinking about.”

According to the report, airline officials are attempting to identify the passenger who allegedly provided the gummies. That individual could potentially face legal consequences.

In a statement to The Sun, a British Airways spokesperson said, “A small number of our crew reported feeling unwell at their hotel and have since recovered. We sent a replacement crew to operate the return flight and there was no impact on our customers.”
