French actress Nadia Farès has died at 57, just one week after she was found unconscious in a swimming pool in Paris, leaving fans and family in shock.

Her daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement on Friday, saying, “It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Farès. France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother we have just lost.”

According to reports, Farès was discovered unresponsive at a private gym pool on April 11. She had suffered cardiac arrest and slipped into a coma before being rushed to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where she passed away days later.

Authorities have opened an investigation into her death, but so far, no foul play has been found.

The tragic loss hits even harder given Farès’ past health struggles. The actress had previously revealed she underwent brain surgery in 2007 after doctors discovered an aneurysm she once described as a “ticking time bomb.” She had also undergone multiple heart surgeries over the years.

Born in Marrakesh, Morocco, in 1968, Farès rose to fame in the early 2000s and became known for her role in The Crimson River. She later appeared in several international projects, including the 2007 thriller Storm Warning, along with dozens of French films.

Even more heartbreaking, Farès was preparing for a major new chapter in her career. She was set to begin filming an action-comedy in September 2026 that would have marked her debut as both a director and screenwriter.

In an emotional Instagram tribute, her daughter Cylia shared just how devastating the loss has been.

“It’s a heartbreak I will never get over,” she wrote. “You were not only an amazing mom but my best friend. I love you… please watch over me.”

She added that her mother’s passing has been a painful reminder of how quickly life can change, vowing to live each day in a way that would make her proud.
