A former Disney actor is back in the headlines—and this time, the allegations are far more serious.

Matthew Prokop, now 35, has been indicted in Texas on a first-degree felony charge tied to alleged possession of child pornography, along with an additional charge for repeatedly violating a protective order.

According to court documents, the indictment was handed down on March 19 in Victoria County, and Prokop pleaded not guilty just days later on March 24.

Investigators claim that in December 2025, authorities discovered Prokop allegedly had more than 50 images involving minors under the age of 18. The materials were described in court filings as graphic, with some depicting explicit sexual conduct.

But that’s not the only charge he’s facing.

Prokop was also indicted on a third-degree felony count for allegedly violating a protective order multiple times within a 12-month period. The order was put in place to protect a woman identified in court documents as “Lucy.”

According to the filings, Prokop allegedly contacted her in a threatening manner in December 2025, including an in-person threat where he reportedly said he was going to kill her. Just days later, he is accused of contacting her again—this time sending explicit images, photos of the hotel she was staying at, and continuing to call and text her even after she asked him to stop.

This latest development comes after a series of previous legal troubles.

Back in May 2024, Prokop was arrested in his hometown of Victoria, Texas, following allegations that he assaulted the same woman. Police reports claim he shoved her and slammed her head during the incident, with witnesses alleging the situation escalated to the point where others had to step in.

He was initially charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and resisting arrest before bonding out.

The protective order tied to the current case was granted shortly after that arrest—and prosecutors now say he violated it.

Prokop was later taken back into custody in December 2025 after allegedly breaking the terms of his bond, facing additional charges including resisting arrest and evading detention.

This isn’t the first time the actor has faced allegations of abuse.

Years earlier, his ex-girlfriend, actress Sarah Hyland, accused him of domestic violence during their relationship. In 2014, she was granted a restraining order, alleging that Prokop once choked her during an argument and later threatened her with disturbing messages.
