Woman goes on wild knife rampage inside Kentucky thrift store leaving shopper critically injured
A routine shopping trip turned into pure terror at a Kentucky thrift store after a woman allegedly launched a brutal, unprovoked attack with a knife — chasing down a shopper, stabbing her, and even biting her during the violent rampage.
Police say 30-year-old Madison Hinchey stormed into a Goodwill store in Murray on April 21 and quickly spiraled out of control.
According to authorities, Hinchey entered the store around 1:35 p.m., pulled a large knife from her purse, and began chasing another woman through aisles of clothing. The horrifying pursuit reportedly continued all the way to a loading dock area.
That’s when things turned even more disturbing.
Police say Hinchey stabbed the victim in the chest before biting her during the attack. When a store employee tried to intervene, Hinchey allegedly struck them with a metal snow shovel.
By the time officers arrived, the chaos was still unfolding. Authorities said they found Hinchey “wrestling” with employees who were desperately trying to stop the attack.
As she was being taken into custody, Hinchey allegedly made a chilling statement to police, saying the victim “got what she came for.”
The injured woman was rushed from the scene and later airlifted to a hospital in Nashville for emergency treatment. Her current condition has not been released.
Investigators have not said whether the suspect and victim knew each other or what may have triggered the violent outburst.
Hinchey is now facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, second-degree assault, and fourth-degree assault. She remains behind bars at the local jail as the case moves forward.
