Ruby Rose is saying goodbye to summer a little earlier than planned after a painful pool accident sent her straight to the hospital with multiple broken ribs.
The Australian actress shared security footage on her Instagram Story Monday showing the freak accident as it happened.
In the clip, Rose could be seen holding a hose near a pool when she suddenly slipped. Instead of catching herself, she missed the edge, slammed hard into the side of the pool and crashed into the water.
The impact was bad enough to leave her with multiple broken ribs.
“RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer,” Rose wrote over the clip. “They are broken, multiple.”
The footage also showed Rose struggling to swim back toward the edge of the pool after the brutal hit.

Despite the pain, the actress managed to keep her sense of humor about the scary moment. She joked that she went “straight to the hospital” and “did not pass go or collect $200,” referencing the classic Monopoly phrase.
She also soundtracked the video with The La’s 1990 hit “There She Goes,” adding a darkly funny twist to the painful footage.
Rose later shared on Threads that she now has to “breathe into a machine lol,” suggesting doctors gave her a breathing device to help with her recovery after the rib injuries.
