Former Fox 2 Detroit anchor Taryn Asher has found herself at the center of a viral controversy after video surfaced appearing to show her in a heated confrontation with a colleague during a station recording.

The footage, first reported by FTVLive and Deadline Detroit, shows Asher recording a public service announcement before becoming visibly frustrated over changes made to the script.

In the clip, Asher can be heard arguing with someone off-camera who was reportedly her boss.

“See, I mean, I can’t wait for you to go through them all, and then I go through them, because then I’m already getting ready by then,” Asher says.

As the exchange grows more tense and the person off-camera appears to walk away, Asher responds, “I don’t think you are. You’re walking out really angry.”

She then appears to use a profanity while continuing the argument.

Moments later, Asher says, “Can I please finish what I’m going to say?” before adding, “What the f—? Grow up.”

The confrontation did not end there.

After the off-camera person left, Asher was heard venting to another crew member about what she described as ongoing workplace frustration.

“I’m so done with her antics, telling on me every five seconds. I’m done,” Asher said.

The leaked video is drawing even more attention because it comes as Asher is involved in a legal battle with the station following her firing last November.

Asher has filed a sex discrimination lawsuit against the station, alleging that she was treated unfairly after Paul McGonagle became station manager in July 2025.

According to the lawsuit, Asher claims she began noticing a pattern in which women in leadership roles were being terminated and replaced by men.

She also alleges that her male co-anchor, Roop Raj, received more favorable treatment.

The lawsuit claims Raj was given more opportunities to conduct guest interviews during the evening news than Asher.

“Around the time of Mr. McGonagle’s hiring,” the suit states, “Asher noticed an alarming pattern of female employees in leadership positions being terminated and replaced by men.”

The filing also alleges Fox treated Raj more favorably in several ways, including by giving him more interview segments.

The newly surfaced video is now adding another layer to what was already a contentious dispute between Asher and her former employer.

As of now, the footage does not by itself establish what led up to the confrontation or provide the full context of the exchange.

Asher’s lawsuit remains pending, and the allegations contained in it have not been proven in court.
