Hollywood actress Selma Blair was arrested following a disturbing confrontation aboard a Delta Air Lines flight that allegedly left two flight attendants injured and ended with the star being taken to a hospital.
The 54-year-old actress, best known for her roles in Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, was traveling from Los Angeles to New York City on Sunday, October 11, when the midair incident unfolded.
According to TMZ, Blair allegedly attempted to open an aircraft door while the plane was in flight, prompting crew members to intervene. The situation reportedly escalated when she punched one flight attendant and bit another.
Law enforcement sources said one crew member suffered a laceration, while another sustained a bite wound. Both reported injuries, and one was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The actress was reportedly restrained aboard Delta Flight 938 before the plane arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
At approximately 11 p.m., Port Authority police responded to a report of a physically abusive passenger after the aircraft reached its gate. Officers took Blair into custody and transported her to a hospital for medical evaluation.
But the confrontation allegedly continued even after she left the aircraft.
According to additional reporting from TMZ, Blair repeatedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head while being transported by ambulance. She was also accused of assaulting a nurse after arriving at the hospital.
The outlet reported that Blair was facing two state assault charges related to the alleged incidents involving the officer and nurse. The FBI is separately investigating what happened aboard the aircraft.
Blair’s representative has attributed the actress’s behavior to an undisclosed medical emergency.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” the representative told Page Six. “Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
The representative did not disclose the nature of the medical emergency or explain what may have caused the reported behavior.
Delta confirmed that the flight arrived ahead of schedule and emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority.
“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the airline said in a statement.
The allegations mark another troubling airplane incident involving Blair.
In June 2016, the actress was removed from a Los Angeles-bound flight on a stretcher after experiencing a medical episode while traveling with her young son, Arthur Saint, and his father, fashion designer Jason Bleick.
Blair later acknowledged that she had consumed alcohol while taking medication. She publicly apologized for the incident and described the experience as deeply embarrassing.
In a 2024 interview with Us Weekly, she recalled the episode as “horrifying and humiliating,” explaining that she had not fully understood the neurological symptoms she was experiencing at the time.
Two years after that earlier incident, Blair revealed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a chronic neurological disease affecting the brain and spinal cord.
Since then, she has become an outspoken advocate for people living with disabilities, sharing her experiences with treatment, mobility difficulties and the challenges of managing a chronic illness.
However, neither Blair nor her representative has suggested that multiple sclerosis caused Sunday’s incident, and no connection between her diagnosis and the allegations has been established.
In her 2022 memoir, Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up, the actress also described several unusual social encounters in which she bit fellow celebrities, including Sienna Miller and Seth MacFarlane.
Those anecdotes involved personal interactions Blair later recalled with embarrassment and have not been linked to the alleged confrontation with airline employees.
The latest incident could carry serious legal consequences.
Under federal law, assaulting or interfering with flight crew members while they perform their duties can result in criminal prosecution. Federal authorities will determine whether the circumstances warrant additional charges related to the reported altercation aboard the aircraft.
As of Monday, October 12, Blair’s representative said she was in stable condition following her medical evaluation.
The FBI investigation remains ongoing, while authorities continue examining the allegations surrounding the flight and the reported confrontations after her arrest.

Blair reports the airline stewardess tasted like chicken. 🤣
I want to for her to face the consequences that anyone else would. What BS that it was a medical emergency always trying to make themselves out to be the victim. If she has mental problems that cause her to bite people then she shouldn’t be allowed to fly period.
