A 75-year-old man is being held in police custody after allegedly killing a younger man on a nudist beach over the weekend near Lyon, France.
The victim was reportedly fondling himself while erect and staring at female nudists when an argument broke out between the two men, the Daily Beast reported. The elder nudist retrieved his hunting gun from his beach bag and shot the man, according to police reports, the outlet noted.
Others on the beach said the victim had been bothering regular beachgoers earlier in the day, and was masturbating into the ocean in front of people sunbathing, the Daily Beast continued. The man, described as an “exhibitionist,” had threatened beachgoers prior to the incident, Metro UK reported.
The accused shooter was a long-time nudist known for discouraging such perverted behavior on the beach near Grand Parc Miribel-Jonage, the Daily Beast reported. The fight broke out between the accused shooter and pervert after the latter reportedly finished performing a sex act upon himself, Metro UK continued.
Police patrolling the Grand Parc Miribel-Jonage area on bikes said they heard three gunshots and immediately responded to the scene, the outlet continued. They allegedly tried to save the accused pervert’s life but were unsuccessful, the outlet noted.
Sunbathing topless is part of the norm for women in France, and there is no national law banning total nudity anywhere in France, Forbes reported. There are laws against disturbing public order, and some swimming items like burkinis (swimsuits covering the whole body) are banned in public swimming pools, the outlet noted.

Even in France we are spilling the gun madness. Shooting somebody for masturbating in public is extreme. maybe the old man should also carry a phone and call the police instead?
Seriously, a nudist goes to the beach nude but carries a hunting rifle?. Anyway, maybe seeing a naked 75 years old man is probably punishment enough for ANY crime
Being naked outdoors is one of my great pleasures. While I find the deceased behavior extremely rude, I do not believe it warranted a death sentence. I hope the killer receives the maximum penalty allowed for his actions. Jail time, and a lifetime ban on all nudist beaches, plus some serious counseling. I wish the dead man had had some counseling also.
If looters and muggers were shot on the spot, there would be so many positive things happen.
First, by eliminating loss of inventory for store owners, prices could drop by about 10% plus insurance premiums would decrease further reducing prices to customers by another 5% to 6%. Then all the courts would clear out their backlogs. That would mean immediate justice for all and eliminate holding people in jail for less time before trial. This would reduce municipal costs – reducing taxes. Then by shooting criminals on the spot, that would reduce the prison population – cutting more municipal expenses which could use that money for ‘down-on-their0luck-people and other community services for tax payers. Lastly, that would reduce repeat offenders. No joke! Repeat offenders caused about 98% of all minor criminal actions. The smarter criminals would stop their illegal behavior or end up dead. That is a real deterrent for looters, shop lifting and muggers. And I might add that “car-jacking” while a cute name is really “grand Auto Thief” and should be punished by a minimum of 20 years – no parole before 20 years. And if they steal a car with a gun, the minimum should be 35 years. A Strong Deterrent will stop these crimes and allow the police to go after serious crimes .Once you have been a victim of these crimes, you get a different opinion of how to handle these criminals.
Currently, the “Land of the Free” have the highest percentage of incarcerated people in the planet. ( Close to 3 millions between Local, state and federal pens)
I have no problem with some punishments like beatings and whippings, as I also see a need to decriminalize some “crimes” that are victimless, but I do not want to spend more money in more jails OR want to return to the Old West where everybody carried a pistol.
Maybe some offenses can be punish by sending the culprit to the army where they can risk their lives fighting our almost constant wars and learn discipline and a career. After a set years of service, their record can be sponged and allow to return to society.
