NFL Network reporter Jane Slater is asking the NFL community for prayers.
Slater announced her mother is battling stage four cancer but the family continues to hope she will improve.
Slater tweeted an update on Thursday about the sad situation.
“Hoping to use the power of twitter here. Looking for cutting edge innovative doctors working on the treatment of advanced small cell lung cancer. Chemo has failed. Immunotherapy didn’t stop growth. Radiation and more chemo under consideration. Please DM,” she wrote.
The sports world is praying for Slater’s family, and the support is great to see.

Slater said her mother was able to spend Christmas with her family, and hope they will able to spend more holidays together.
“Christmas was just a little extra special this year,” Slater tweeted. “I love you so much mom I pray that she keeps fighting and God gives her more grace that the doctors have. It was the greatest day in an otherwise really really tough year. Cancer, can we just not?”
