Kadarius Toney, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs and a two-time Super Bowl champion, was arrested last week in connection with an alleged assault on a woman in Georgia. The incident has resulted in charges of aggravated assault and obstruction of justice.
According to an arrest warrant, Toney allegedly strangled the woman with enough force to leave “red marks on her neck” and cause “petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes.” Additionally, another warrant accuses Toney of preventing the woman from calling 911 during the attack. He reportedly took her phone and canceled voice commands to block her from seeking emergency help while physically assaulting her.
The alleged assault took place on January 14 at Toney’s home in Douglasville, Georgia, and arrest warrants were issued the following day. Toney was taken into custody on February 6, and bond was set at $25,000 for each of the two charges. By February 7, he had been released from jail.
Toney, who was previously a player for the New York Giants before being traded to the Chiefs in 2022, helped lead the team to Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024. He played for the Cleveland Browns for a brief period last season.
