Jesy Nelson is keeping her fans close as she continues her high-risk pregnancy journey. The former Little Mix star, 33, took to Instagram Stories on Sunday, April 6, to give an emotional update from her hospital bed, where she’s been recovering from surgery linked to complications in her twin pregnancy.
Wearing flamingo-print pajamas and sitting beside her partner, fellow musician Zion Foster, Nelson appeared in good spirits as she rubbed her baby bump and thanked fans for their support.
“We’re another week further along, and we feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong,” she said. “We just wanted to thank you for all your support and beautiful messages. You guys have been so lovely. It’s really helped us keep going.”
Though she remains in the hospital, Jesy shared that Zion has been helping her enjoy some fresh air when possible. “Zion takes me out in the wheelchair down the road, but that’s as far as we can go,” she joked, adding that she hoped fans were enjoying the sunshine.
Jesy also promised to keep sharing updates as she and Zion move through what she called a “journey.” The couple has been open about the challenges they’ve faced since learning their twins are monochorionic, diamniotic (MCDA) — meaning they share a single placenta, which increases the risk of complications like twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).
In a video shared March 5, Nelson revealed the emotional toll of the diagnosis. “One baby might take all the nutrients,” she explained, “which — really awful to say — could lead to both babies dying.”
A few days later, she returned to Instagram with another update, sharing that she had begun experiencing warning signs doctors had told her to look out for, including abdominal tightness and difficulty breathing. After a hospital evaluation, she revealed doctors had to move forward with surgery.
“It’s not what we wanted,” she admitted at the time, “but it’s necessary to give our babies the best chance of surviving.”
On March 30, which coincided with Mother’s Day in the U.K., Jesy and Zion shared a much-needed dose of good news: the surgery had been successful. “The TTTS has cleared up,” she said, visibly emotional. “We are so, so lucky.”
While Jesy remains in the hospital to reduce the risk of preterm labor, she and Zion are taking things day by day. “One week at a time,” Zion added in the clip.
Jesy first announced her pregnancy in January with a sweet polaroid-style Instagram post captioned, “She’s eating for 3 now 👶👶.” Since then, fans have rallied around the couple, following their deeply personal updates with love and support.
Wow, So sorry to hear about this. My wife and I went through 5 high risk pregnancies. She always bled through her pregnancies and so many ignorant doctors instantly make stupid assumptions about it rather than being thorough so with our son they told us she was having a miscarriage. Thankfully that unreliable jerk was wrong. Anyway,nothing but love and we will be praying for you.
