Looks like Meghan Markle won’t be sipping matcha with Jennifer Aniston anytime soon.
According to RadarOnline, the Duchess of Sussex is pulling out all the stops to befriend the Friends star now that Jennifer is moving into the same upscale Montecito neighborhood. But insiders say Jen wants no part of it — and isn’t exactly vibing with Meghan’s over-the-top attempts to win her over.
After a terrifying incident earlier this year where a stalker crashed through the gates of her Bel-Air estate, Jennifer reportedly decided it was time for a fresh start and moved into a home she previously bought from Oprah back in 2022. She’s now focused on turning the property into a private, ultra-secure haven — not exactly the best time to get bombarded with homemade jam and unsolicited wellness gifts.
But that’s reportedly what’s happening.
Sources claim Meghan has been “love-bombing” the Morning Show actress with pricey care packages and invitations, hoping their new proximity will spark a friendship she’s allegedly been chasing for years. “Meghan is thrilled that Jennifer is moving to Montecito,” a source dished. “She’s been trying to get closer to her for a long time, and now she sees this as the perfect opportunity.”
Not so fast, though. Another insider says Jennifer is not returning the energy — at all. “Jen appreciates the gestures but is focused on settling into her new home and prioritizing her safety. She’s not looking to expand her social circle at the moment,” the source said.
And in case that wasn’t clear enough, the source added bluntly: “She also sees Meghan as poisonous and wants nothing to do with the drama she creates around herself and with the royal family.”
Oof.
Apparently, Jennifer has quietly trashed Meghan’s gifts and ignored every invite to chat or collaborate. One insider even claimed Meghan is hoping to get Jennifer on her podcast, but Jen’s not having it. “She doesn’t want her jam — or her friendship,” the source said.
Double oof.
So why the intense interest from Meghan? Another source explained that Jen has long been at the top of Meghan’s “dream bestie list” because of her Hollywood status and A-list connections. “If Meghan could find a way to ride Jen’s coattails, it could be her ticket to the very top in Hollywood,” a source said. “She’s frantic to get back in the showbiz tent.”
The timing of Jennifer’s move may have seemed like a golden opportunity to Meghan — especially after years of trying (and failing) to connect through mutual friends. “But Jennifer just isn’t interested,” the insider said.
This would be Anniston’s loss.
