A terrifying moment unfolded on Sunday during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 36-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts when a security guard was badly injured on the sidelines.

The incident occurred during a Colts drive in the third quarter. Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught a pass in the red zone and, in the chaos of the play, collided with a security guard who was facing the crowd. Both went tumbling to the ground, with the 6’4”, 225-pound receiver landing directly on the guard.

The fall left the security officer in visible pain, raising immediate concerns among fans and players alike. Pittman stayed down after the collision, checking on the worker before play resumed. The NFL sideline incident was a frightening reminder of how quickly things can go wrong in high-speed games.

Later reports confirmed that the security guard was conscious and being assisted, but he suffered significant injuries and was encouraged to undergo a concussion evaluation. Miami reporter Mia O’Brien shared an update on Twitter, urging: “Never decline the concussion protocol, brother man. Trust me.”

The collision overshadowed much of the game for a moment, which also saw Colts quarterback Daniel Jones exit with a suspected Achilles injury, but the focus quickly returned to the severity of the sideline accident. Pittman, who was unharmed, finished the game with nine catches for 78 yards.

Jacksonville eventually pulled away in the game, but the frightening sideline collision served as a stark reminder of the risks faced by those keeping fans and players safe during NFL action.
