Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings ignited a political firestorm this week after declaring he plans to vote for whoever is willing to prosecute the Trump administration following the fatal shooting of a protester in Minnesota by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

Jennings, 51, shared his reaction on the progressive social media platform Bluesky, where he posted a string of emotional messages after learning about the death of 37-year-old poet Renee Nicole Good, who was shot during an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis.

“The ‘prosecute the former regime at every level’ candidate has my vote in 2028,” Jennings wrote, just hours after President Donald Trump publicly defended the ICE agent involved in the shooting.

The longtime game show host continued posting throughout the day, expressing frustration and grief as details about the incident spread. In one post, Jennings sarcastically remarked that seeing online arguments about whether ICE or the Department of Homeland Security should be abolished briefly lifted his spirits during what he described as a “dark week.”

Jennings also reshared posts highlighting Good’s personal life, noting that she was the mother of a six-year-old child who is now without either parent. Good’s husband, comedian Timothy Macklin, died in 2023. At the time of her death, she was living with her partner, Rebecca Good.

Additional posts amplified reports of ICE agents appearing at child care centers in Minnesota, fueling further outrage among activists and local leaders.

While Jennings’ comments were widely praised on Bluesky, where his posts received nearly 75,000 likes, not everyone was supportive. One user mocked him by replying, “Sorry, but you must phrase that in the form of a question,” referencing his role as Jeopardy! host.

Jennings chose not to block the user but fired back anyway. “You might have something substantive to say instead,” he wrote. “Or, even better, you can say nothing at all.”

The controversy unfolded as Vice President JD Vance publicly encouraged ICE agents to “work even harder” following Good’s death. ICE officials claimed Good intentionally drove her SUV toward agents, an account that witnesses have disputed.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey dismissed ICE’s version of events as “bulls**t,” while Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the officer involved, calling Good’s alleged actions “an act of domestic terrorism” and insisting the shooting was defensive.

Despite calls from state and local officials for ICE to leave Minnesota, Noem said federal agents are staying put. The Department of Homeland Security has deployed more than 2,000 officers to the area in what it describes as its largest immigration enforcement operation ever, with more than 1,500 arrests reported so far.

Minneapolis remains on edge as protests continue outside immigration court, with demonstrators carrying signs reading “ICE Out Now,” “We Deserve to Be Safe,” and “Justice Now.” Schools have canceled classes and activities as a precaution, while Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has urged residents to remain calm.

  1. Just like Kimmel, personal thoughts have Z E R O place on an entertainment show.
Sad thing is, Jennings is smart enough to know this………
I wonder if this is HIS way of getting out of a contract he’s grown tired of ?

  2. Jennings should put his photographic memory to use by watching the various videos of the incident. Only then could he make a fully informed judgment of the incident. The woman disobeyed lawful orders after purposefully placing her car as an impediment to ICE operations. Then she turned her front wheels to the right in order to flee knowing full well an officer was in front of her car. She did not care. The officer was correct in defending his life.

  3. I was supporter of Jennings when they decided who would take over for Trebeck. But now it is time to move on and stop watching Jeopardy. When Jennings sides with illegal aliens it is time to boycott Jeopardy when the host is anti-american. ICE has a right to protect themselves.
