A Colombian pop star and his entire band were killed in a fiery plane crash on their way to a concert—just days after the singer chillingly revealed he had dreamed multiple times that he would die in an aircraft accident.

Yeison Jiménez, 34, was traveling to a show in Medellín on Saturday when the small aircraft carrying him and his musicians crashed moments after takeoff from a rural airfield in Paipa, a town in central Colombia. The plane burst into flames on impact, according to local reports.

Six people were killed in the crash, including Jiménez and his photographer, Weisman Mora. Mora had posted a haunting final video of the group just before takeoff around 4 p.m. local time, unaware it would be their last moments.

Jiménez was one of Colombia’s most popular folk and regional music artists, with a massive fan base and sold-out shows across the country. His death has sent shockwaves through the Latin music world—not just because of the tragedy itself, but because of what he had recently shared publicly.

In a past interview with Colombian television network Caracol Televisión, Jiménez spoke openly about recurring dreams in which he foresaw dying in a plane crash.

“I dreamed three times that we were going to have a plane crash,” he said. In the dreams, he recalled warning the pilot to turn the plane around, only to be reassured that the problem had been fixed. In the most disturbing version, he said he dreamed that everyone on board had died and that the incident was being reported on the news.

“God gave me three signs, and I didn’t understand them,” Jiménez said. “I didn’t get them.”

In the same interview, the singer revealed that he had experienced a terrifying emergency landing involving the same aircraft just 10 days before his son was due to be born. He described hearing strange sounds during takeoff and feeling the plane fail to gain altitude.

“There was no speed. We weren’t climbing,” he said, adding that his cameraman noticed water leaking from the engine as the aircraft rocked in the air.

Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the crash and said an investigation is underway to determine the cause.

“The Civil Aeronautics Authority deeply regrets the accident that occurred in Paipa, Boyacá, in which six occupants of the aircraft died, including the artist Yeison Jiménez,” the agency said in a statement. “We express our most sincere condolences to their families, friends, and fans.”
