Kimmarie Johnson, the actress and model known for appearances on the hit television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and the Ashton Kutcher comedy Dude, Where’s My Car?, has died at the age of 50 following a sudden medical emergency.

Johnson died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, after spending more than a week in a Los Angeles hospital, her niece Rhonda Scott confirmed Thursday.

According to Scott, the actress suffered what the family described as a “heart event” at her Los Angeles home on October 27. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors reportedly diagnosed her with a heart-related aneurysm condition.

Despite receiving medical treatment, Johnson never recovered and died eight days later. Her family has not disclosed further details about the precise medical cause of her death.

The heartbreaking news has left loved ones mourning a woman they remember for her warmth, generosity and unforgettable personality.

“She radiated a light so strong and bright,” Scott told PEOPLE. “People who came in contact with her felt nothing but positive energy. We will miss her tremendously and will continue to honor her life forever.”

Born and raised in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, Johnson began pursuing a career in entertainment through beauty pageants and modeling before making her way to Hollywood.

She earned the title of Miss Pennsylvania USA in 1992 and went on to compete in the 1993 Miss USA pageant, where she finished among the top five contestants.

Her success helped open doors in modeling, leading to opportunities with major fashion and beauty brands before she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

Johnson landed a role on Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1998, appearing during the later seasons of the enormously popular teen drama that made household names of stars including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and the late Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty.

She later appeared in V.I.P., the action-comedy television series starring Pamela Anderson, and the 2000 cult comedy Dude, Where’s My Car?, alongside Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott.

Her other screen credits included Wanda at Large, Spanish Fly, Shadow Fury and Tucker’s War, with her final listed acting appearance coming in 2017.

But Johnson’s ambitions extended well beyond television and film.

The actress also worked as a producer, continued modeling and eventually established herself as an entrepreneur in the beauty industry.

In 2011, she launched SkinGlow by Kimmarie, a skincare company inspired by her longstanding interest in beauty and wellness. She also worked as a beauty director for a fashion magazine, combining her entertainment experience with her passion for helping others look and feel their best.

Motherhood was another important chapter in her life. Johnson welcomed her son, Cameron Nino, in 2003, and stepped away from some acting opportunities to focus on raising him. Cameron later followed a creative path of his own, becoming a musician based in Los Angeles.

Even in the months leading up to her death, Johnson remained active in fashion and entertainment.

She attended the Los Angeles premiere of Michael, the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biographical film, in April 2026, marking one of her final reported red-carpet appearances.

In August, she celebrated another professional milestone when she appeared on the cover of a digital edition of Grazia Slovenia magazine.

Her social media accounts also reflected her continuing enthusiasm for modeling, fashion and new creative opportunities. Her final reported Instagram post, shared August 27, featured a collaboration with a fashion house.

Johnson’s death comes during a period in which fans of Beverly Hills, 90210 have already mourned several members of the beloved television show’s cast.

Shannen Doherty died in July 2024 at age 53 following a long battle with cancer, while Luke Perry died in March 2019 at age 52 after suffering a stroke. Joe E. Tata, who played Peach Pit owner Nat Bussichio, died in August 2022 at age 85.

Although Johnson’s role on the series was relatively small, her career reflected decades of determination across acting, modeling and entrepreneurship.

For her family, however, her greatest legacy was not found in television credits or magazine covers, but in the kindness and positive energy she brought to those around her.

Johnson is survived by her son, Cameron, and her extended family.

Her sudden death at just 50 has brought an unexpectedly early end to a life that remained connected to the entertainment and beauty industries she loved.
