Quinton Aaron, best known for his breakout role opposite Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side, is fighting for his life after a terrifying fall that left him hospitalized and battling a serious infection.

The 41-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital after suddenly losing control of his legs while walking up the stairs to his apartment, causing him to fall, according to his manager. Sources say Aaron is now dealing with a severe blood infection, and doctors are still working to determine what caused the alarming episode.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover Aaron’s mounting medical bills as his condition remains critical. The fundraiser describes the situation as “sudden, frightening, and overwhelming” for his loved ones, adding that Aaron is currently on life support.

“As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden,” the fundraiser states. “Medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”

Aaron’s manager, Katrina Fristoe, asked for privacy on behalf of the family.

“The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and the media but respectfully requests privacy during this time,” she said, adding that updates would be shared when Aaron’s condition improves.

Aaron rose to fame portraying Michael Oher in the 2009 hit film The Blind Side, starring alongside Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. The role made him a household name, but his years since have been marked by ongoing health struggles.

His latest crisis comes less than a year after he was hospitalized in March 2025 after coughing up blood while running a fever. At the time, doctors reportedly suspected possible flu or pneumonia. He also battled a serious upper respiratory infection in 2019.

In recent months, Aaron had been publicly sharing his dramatic health transformation. In October, he revealed he had lost around 200 pounds, dropping from a peak weight of 575 pounds in 2012 to about 375 pounds. The 6-foot-8 actor said seeing his weight climb so high made him realize he was eating himself “into an early grave.”

Aaron said he briefly used the weight-loss drug Ozempic in 2024 but had to stop after suffering an allergic reaction. He later turned to intermittent fasting and major dietary changes, cutting back on sugar and carbohydrates. He also spoke openly about staying active and committed to improving his overall health.

Despite those efforts, Aaron has faced serious medical challenges for years. He revealed in 2023 that he had previously been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. In 2020 alone, he was hospitalized three times — once due to COVID-19 and twice because of heart failure. In 2021, he was diagnosed with diabetes, which further pushed him to focus on his health.
