Brazilian influencer Jessica Daugirdas has died three years after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She was 35.

Her family confirmed her passing in a statement shared on her social media account on January 25.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jessica,” her family wrote in Portuguese. “God, in His infinite wisdom, has taken our warrior to be with Him, after she fought bravely until the end, with strength, faith and courage.”

The family asked for prayers during the time of mourning and ended the message with a Bible verse from 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

The announcement came just days after Jessica’s sister, Gabi, revealed that the influencer had been hospitalized with sepsis. In a January 21 update posted to Jessica’s Instagram, Gabi said her sister was being treated in a semi-intensive care unit.

“Jessica is still hospitalized due to a serious case of sepsis,” she wrote. “She continues to receive treatment, is being well cared for by the medical team, and is closely monitored by her family. She’s on many medications, which leaves her quite unwell, so she hasn’t been able to use her phone.”

Jessica Daugirdas had built a large following on Instagram and TikTok, amassing more than 300,000 followers by openly documenting her cancer journey and daily life with the disease.

In a December 28, 2023 post, she reflected on what she called “the most difficult and challenging year” of her life. That year, she revealed, she had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and undergone a series of intense treatments, including experimental surgery to preserve her uterus, oral chemotherapy, radiotherapy, cancer removal surgery, and a procedure to reposition her uterus.

Part of her content also focused on living with an ostomy bag, a reality she shared candidly with followers to help normalize life after cancer treatment.

At the time, Jessica said the hardest lesson she learned wasn’t the diagnosis itself, but learning to depend on others.

“For me, this was more painful than knowing I had cancer,” she wrote. “There were days when I needed someone even to help me get dressed.”

In a video shared in March 2025, Jessica explained how she first realized something was wrong. She said she initially experienced constipation, followed by increasing amounts of blood in her stool. After undergoing a colonoscopy, doctors discovered a polyp in her rectum, which led to her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Following news of her death, fans flooded the comments with messages of grief and gratitude.

“Rest in peace, Jeje. Your light will continue here on earth,” one follower wrote. “Your smile, resilience, and faith will remain etched in our memory.”

Another added, “We will never forget you, Jessica. Strength to all family and friends.”
