A devastating crash on an Ohio highway has left an entire young family dead after a semi-truck slammed into a line of stopped vehicles, triggering a massive, fiery pileup.
Lynnea Soposki, 36, her husband Luke, 37, and their 1-year-old son Logan were all killed at the scene when a tractor-trailer allegedly barreled into backed-up traffic on Interstate 71 just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to reports, the truck—driven by 50-year-old Modou F. Ngom—crashed into a red car, setting off a chain reaction involving at least nine vehicles. Several of those cars quickly burst into flames, turning the highway into a chaotic and deadly scene.
The Soposki family’s Chevrolet Silverado was among the vehicles caught in the crash.
Investigators say the collision happened in a construction zone near the Route 37 interchange, where traffic had been reduced to a single lane as part of an ongoing road project. Authorities allege the truck driver failed to slow down as he approached the traffic backup.
Ngom has since been charged with vehicular homicide. He appeared in court in shackles and was given a $500,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison, with prosecutors warning that additional charges may still be filed.
Behind the headlines is a heartbreaking loss.
Lynnea was a beloved veterinarian at Muirfield Animal Hospital in Dublin, known for her compassion and deep love for animals. Outside of work, she enjoyed hiking, working out, and beekeeping with her husband, who friends described as her biggest supporter.
“Luke was her hype man,” one friend said, recalling how the couple recently brought their baby son Logan to the gym, glowing with pride as new parents.
“They were just so happy,” the friend said. “You could feel it.”
