Actor Patrick Muldoon, best known for his roles on Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place, and the cult sci-fi hit Starship Troopers, has died at 57 after suffering a sudden heart attack, according to reports.

The tragic moment unfolded Sunday morning at his Beverly Hills home. His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, said Patrick had just finished having coffee with his girlfriend before heading to take a shower. When he didn’t come back after a while, his girlfriend went to check on him—and found him unresponsive on the bathroom floor.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted to revive him, but sadly, there was nothing they could do.

Muldoon’s career spanned decades, starting while he was still in college. He landed early roles on shows like Who’s the Boss? and Saved by the Bell before becoming a household name in the ‘90s.

He rose to fame playing Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives in the early 1990s, a role he later returned to years later. He also made waves as Richard Hart on Melrose Place, cementing his place as a TV heartthrob of the era.

On the big screen, Muldoon was widely recognized for his role as Zander Barcalow in Starship Troopers, along with appearances in films like Deadlock, Vanquish, Dakota, Marlowe, and Murder at Hollow Creek.

Even more heartbreaking, he was still actively working. His final film, Dirty Hands, is set to be released later this year, and he was also serving as an executive producer on an upcoming project currently in production.
